On Titles for Artwork
February 5, 2009
There’s a few ways I could title this piece.
- Roses
- My Grandfather’s Roses
- My Grandfather’s Roses the Day After He Died
- My Grandfather’s Roses the Day After He Died Which No One In The Family Expected Him To Do So Well Tending After My Grandmother Left For The West Nearly Two Decades Ago.
They’re just a couple of roses next to the front door of an unassuming stucco sided single story home somewhere in Orange County, CA. The man who took care of them died at the age of 92 of lung cancer and now there’s no one to look after them. The flowers can’t hold up a sign to let you know what they were about so that task falls to others.
